The seabed was constructed from the AGSO water bottom interpretation in combination with the PGS interpretation of the CTT and VTT 2D surveys and the Vulcan Sub-Basin and Carnarvon Basin MegaSurveys.
In the Vulcan Mega Survey the Sea Bed reflector is represented on seismic by a trough in data areas where water depth is more than about 120m. The reflector is not well imaged when the water is shallower than about 100m. This is due to the long minimum offset during acquisition, particularly on the eastern and southern sides of the data coverage. Shallow reefs (less than 20m water depth to crest) are present in the northern area of the data. For both Vulcan and Carnarvon MegaSurveys, the seabed is represented as a trough, suggesting that seismic polarity is negative standard.
